What Mistakes Do First-Time Home Buyers Make?

Keep your mortgage on track with the best terms!

Many first-time home buyers make the mistake of not getting pre-approved before house hunting or underestimating the total costs, including taxes, insurance, and maintenance.

Many people neglect their credit profile, select inappropriate mortgage options, or concentrate solely on the home price without accounting for ongoing expenses. They may head to their bank where they maintain their accounts, believing this is their only or best choice. Often, they are unaware of the services mortgage brokers provide, which can lead to them not seeking out a mortgage broker for their preapproval process.

Skipping a home inspection, letting emotions drive decisions, not planning for future needs, overextending their budget, or not working with a trusted mortgage broker are also common pitfalls.
