Owner Spotlight - Karen Pacheco

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I switched from a career in sales to financing as I was excited about the opportunity to help clients move into their dream homes. Working in the mortgage industry allows me to remain closely connected with clients and help them through any of their financial needs. In addition, I truly enjoy working with people and being able to find them the right solution for their current situation.

Leading people down the right path is a challenge I face every day. I must always ensure that the plans or options that I am offering to my clients are in their best interest. Whether it is finding them the best rate and term or helping them reduce their debt load and saving them money.

As people’s financial needs do not have a start and end time, I always try to make myself available seven days a week as people come to me with questions or a problem and I need to find a way that will help them. There are always changes that are occurring in this industry therefore daily checks on changes to rates and policies with the many lenders are needed to ensure that the information relayed to my clients is always correct.

As the owner of my own business, organization and time management, problem-solving, and communication are crucial factors when it comes to staying on top of work requirements. It is these four attributes that have helped me attain success, as well as the hard work that I have put in over the years and always being up for a challenge.

While I love what I do, I admire any family run business; a business that is started from one small thought among family or friends that grows into a strong, reputable business. Those businesses are backed by a lot of strong-minded people who bleed hard work and positive thinking. It is hard making the move to self-employment as your success in your business relies a lot on you and how much effort you put into it. When you see a successful small business, I know how much work they would have had to put in to get to that point.

My parents have had the biggest impact on my leadership style. They were both business owners many times throughout their careers. Sometimes they were successful and sometimes they failed, however, each and every time they tried their best and worked their hardest. Which is why, as an individual, I value honesty, hard work, and persistence.

To me, the most successful moment in my career was when I made a career move to the finance industry. It was a big change in my life as this was a new move for not just me but for my family as well. Everyone around me kept me encouraged in my career change and I have never been happier!

While I am not at work, I love to cook and try new recipes. I enjoy taking cooking classes to find new skills and trying the new recipes with my family. Spending time with friends and family as well as traveling when we can, is something I also greatly enjoy.

I love to give back to the community and I spend volunteer hours towards helping the homeless and less fortunate people in our city. I am an ardent supporter of locals and feel that we have many people surrounding us that need our help. I like to do things like make necessity bags for the homeless, donating to the food bank and supporting families during the holidays with holiday hampers to be able to make their time as enjoyable as possible.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
